Security code

A Card Security Code (CSC), also called Card Verification Value (CVV), Card Verification Code (CVC), or Card Verification Number is a unique 3 or 4 digit number printed on your card, in addition to the account number.

It is not embeded within the card’s magnetic field nor appearing on the bills or receipt of the merchants. Verification number serves as a proof of physical posession of the card at the moment of online purchase and it reduces the possibility of a fraud.

Position of verification number imprint depends on the card in question. American Express cards begining with 3775 have 3 digit number on the back of the card (last number group). For other America Express cards please enter 4 digit number printed on the front of the card. Verification number for other accepted cards (MasterCard, Maestro, Visa) is imprinted on the back of the card.
